Can you use mbox with cubase

I remember somone once having cubase on his laptop, along with pro tools LE and he played back a smal session through the Mbox and it was fine but as far as recording goes I wonder if the buffer settings could get low enough to be useable?

My Studio. I have two of them. Some folks don't like the converters but they sound fine, especially for the money and with gain staging skills. For a mobile unit or different studio spot recording it's a great piece. I'm moving my other drum set in my foyer to have a cool room sound for drums, this set up will live in there.

I'd also like to add for your imagination that you can copy any audio, say a guitar track, duplicate the track three times on say tracks and send those 3 parts out of three different outputs on the back of the firepod to 3 different amps or effects units later to re-record the results. Don't know much about the other unit you have. Thanx for the replies. I'm not the least bit concerned about the quality of the audio, because the studio I'm at has all the nice gear that I use for the real stuff.

Last edited: Jul 19, Thank you all. Would I be headed the right direction to go with them mbox and protools over keeping the omega with cubase? Samplecraze Zukan. MBox 2 is rubbish. There is far better out there. Lil Chris New member. Apart from if you want LE instead of m-powered or you have no FW port In your situation it's worth every penny.

People who are trying to be completely industry standard need access to pro tools in some form or fashion. Lil Chris said:. Ahh k. I've heard using USB interfaces on a laptop though can be hell. Although a lot of studios are primarily using Logic now. I thought about Logic also but i downloaded a trial version and i don't like it at all As i understand if i get the mbox 2 can't i run m powered pro tools and whats the difference anyways?

My main sequencer is Cakewalk Sonar 5. I've been using cakewalk since I first got into computer and I just know it like the back of my hand. All sequencers are pretty much the same, it's just buttons and commands are put in different places, so it's about getting familiar with one.
